An exhibition of the extraordinary work by local schools and communities

An exhibition about the project, displaying Sainsbury Centre objects, comparative works lent by the Museum of East Anglian Life and celebrating some of the extraordinary work by schools and communities in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Works of art from different parts of the world art were the starting point to inspire all kinds of questions and creative responses. These led to rich observations and insights both into these works, and by comparison to ourselves. Each group did something quite different. Many responded by creating a new kind of contemporary heritage gathered from their experiences and observations, literally reflecting different cultures of the countryside.

Much of the work has been located in and from schools. Teachers (often artists themselves) and pupils worked in collaboration with artists and gallery educators, researchers and volunteers. Other projects have involved wider communities.

The CUT is a largely volunteer-run multi-arts venue in Halesworth, which runs lively exhibition programmes, films and events and theatrical performances.
