Summer holiday family activity day

On Wednesday 28th July M.E.A.L and the culture of the countryside teamed up to provide an fascinating and creative opportunity to use local and global food related objects to stimulate drawings, discussion and art work. Over 40 children with their carers and families spent time handling and comparing local and global: pots, food storage pieces, bowls and food preparation tools by examining materials and skills used and questioning the reasons for differences in adornment and decoration. The children then went onto designing and making their own clay food storage containers incorporating designs and patterns they has been looking at.
