Canoe Prows in Papua New Guinea

Canoe Prows are carved aggressively e.g. as crocodiles. Because of their importance for communication and trade, canoes are of great practical significance but they can also be symbolic. For example, they may be built in memory of particular ancestors and heavily decorated.
