Pott Row First School

There was a strong sense of the importance of outdoor education at Pott Row, so working outdoors was made a priority - whatever the weather might bring. It was also felt that focusing on another culture would help the school deliver on its multicultural aims following an Ofsted review. The themes used to focus both these aims were: first, Rivers and the Land; immediately followed by Mountains and the Sky. For the first theme the notion of the winding river lent itself to the idea of journeying and storytelling. On the second day, the sky theme lent itself to more spiritual and celebrational thoughts.
