Craig Kao

Craig Kao was born in Taiwan and trained at Central St Martins School of Art in London. He works with video and creates site-specific installations. His work often deals with the narrative of the environment and creates an intervention between sculptural objects and the public space.

His video piece 'Chicken Fly Rise' (4 minutes) will be shown at Wingfield Barns (June 26th-July 17th). It shows a playground he built for chickens aiming to diffuse their natural pecking order and to observe their reactions to objects introduced to their environment.

Craig participated in the Sainsbury Centre's Late Shift performance showcase and has shown his work at various exhibitions in the UK. He also participated in several residencies and projects at the Camden Arts Centre, the Sainsbury Centre's 'China China China' exhibition and, most recently, 'Culture of the Countryside'.
