Artists for Climate Change

This Norfolk County Council initiative, supported by the UEA (CUE East, SCVA, CRed) Professor Tim O Riordan, the Energy Saving Trust, ANSWER, and Low Carbon Britain, aimed to train artists to support the reduction of carbon emissions through the development of creative learning programmes for our schools, children and young people.

This training was followed by the piloting of creative approaches to carbon reduction and sustainability in our school communities. From this, a directory is being produced and distributed to all Norfolk schools and key environmental and cultural organisations.

Artists for Climate Change has been awarded the Inspire Mark for Sustinability from the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.

Anna McCarthy is Arts Projects Development Officer for Norfolk County Council's Children's Services. She develops high quality, creative learning experiences both in and beyond the classroom, through partnerships with schools and their communities, artists and cultural organisations.
