Our objects from the Sepik River area of Papua New Guinea enabled interesting insights and parallels to be made in this border area of North Suffolk, with the Waveney river snaking through it. They inspired a renewed interest at Beccles Middle School in their river. The celebration of ritual and observation of pattern in the environment became a strong theme, leading to community events ranging from ploughing with Suffolk Horses, to photography and film celebrating the beauty of local farms and the quirkiness of specialist vocabularies describing heritage and rural industry.
